Iran exports dairy products to Russia
Head of Astara Veterinary Network Bahram Pour Zarb declared on Tuesday that 34,655 kilograms cheese and cream worth 173,275 dollars were exported from the border town to Russia.

He added that the dairy consignment was exported by permission of Mazandaran Veterinary Department and supervision of Astara Veterinary Network.

Pour Zarb said that 177 tons of cheese and cream had been exported from Astara in the current year.

He added that exporting dairy products to Russia due to market demand by Russia and other members of Eurasia Union, like Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia and Belarus plays role in creating balance in domestic market as well as obtaining foreign exchange and making Iranian dairy products known in the area.

Astara city located in northwest of Gilan province and bordering Azerbaijan Republic and has 91000 populations.
